Having trouble with SwitchGuard? Start with the quick answers below, then reach out directly if you're still stuck.

Grant Accessibility permission

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable SwitchGuard. If you don't see it listed, open SwitchGuard once and useGrant Accessibility Permission… from the menu bar item.

The checkmark won't turn on

Toggle SwitchGuard off, then on again in the Accessibility list, then reopen the menu bar item. If you recently reinstalled the app, macOS may need you to remove and re-add it to the Accessibility list once.

Change the shortcut or retry count

Open the SwitchGuard menu bar item → Hotkey… to record a new shortcut, or Retry Count to choose between 1 and 5 attempts.
